YouTube announced the expanded launch of its audio generator “Dream Track” for all creators in the US. This tool, based on the Lyria music model from Google DeepMind, allows users to create short audio clips up to 30 seconds long based on text prompts. Previously available only to a limited group of users, “Dream Track” is now accessible to everyone.
The generator was developed in collaboration with various artists to provide a library of music fragments for AI. YouTube positions this tool as a way to create unique soundtracks for content—especially for Shorts videos. According to YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, creators can also use this tool to make longer tracks via the YouTube Create app.
Although the capabilities are currently limited to creating only instrumental tracks without vocals, “Dream Track” could become a powerful tool for generating unique audio, helping creators enhance the quality of their videos. Content creators can experiment with audio to boost the atmosphere of their videos.
