Elon Musk’s company, xAI, has launched testing of a standalone app for its chatbot Grok on iOS. The new app is already available in several countries, including the US, Australia, and India. Grok can access real-time data from the internet and the X platform, and also offers generative AI features such as rewriting text, summarizing long paragraphs, and generating images from text prompts.
According to the app page, Grok is “an AI-powered assistant designed to be as truthful, useful, and interesting as possible.” It helps users get answers to any questions, create vivid images, and upload photos for a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Initially, Grok was only available to paid X subscribers. In November, xAI began testing a free version of the chatbot and recently made it available to all users. The company is also preparing a dedicated Grok.com website to provide access to the chatbot via the web.
