TikTok has introduced a new AI-based tool called “Smart Split,” which automatically breaks long videos into short vertical clips for smartphone viewing. Users can select segments to highlight separately, and “Smart Split” independently determines the duration, adds captions, and adapts the video to a vertical format. This feature is now available to all users through the TikTok Studio Web platform.
Another new feature is the “AI Outline” tool, which helps create a video plan before shooting begins. It generates titles, hashtags, script ideas, and hooks based on the chosen topic or popular queries on TikTok. Creators can edit these suggestions to match their style. Currently, “AI Outline” is only available to users over 18 in the US, Canada, and some other countries, but TikTok promises to expand access soon.
In addition to video tools, TikTok has updated the reward conditions for creators who have subscribers and offer exclusive content by subscription. If an author meets certain requirements, they can receive an increased share of subscription revenue — up to 90 percent.
The new features aim to simplify the video creation process and help authors quickly adapt content for different formats. TikTok expects this to enable creators to focus on ideas and attract more viewers to their projects.
