TikTok has introduced its first generative AI feature that transforms static photos into dynamic videos directly in “Stories.” The new feature, named “AI Alive,” is now available through the Story Camera, offering users a way to create short videos with unique motion effects, atmosphere, and creative processing. Now even an ordinary snapshot can come to life — the sky smoothly changes colors, clouds move, and favorite selfies gain new emotional shades.
To use the feature, simply select a photo from the album, add a short description of how the video should look, and receive the result in just a few minutes. Special emphasis is placed on simplicity — no editing skills are required, as intelligent editing tools are available to everyone.
TikTok developers emphasize that all videos created with “AI Alive” are marked as AI-generated and contain special C2PA metadata. This allows for easy identification of the content’s origin even after uploading or sharing outside the platform.
For community safety, a multi-level verification system is in place: before showing the result, the text request and video undergo automatic moderation. After publishing the story, a final check is applied, and users can report content that violates the service’s rules.
