Startup Stability AI has teamed up with Arm to implement its Stable Audio Open model on mobile devices powered by Arm chips. This model can generate audio, including sound effects, without the need for an internet connection.
Stable Audio Open, in collaboration with Arm, has been optimized to accelerate the audio generation process. Thanks to this partnership, the time required to create an eleven-second audio clip has been reduced from four minutes to eight seconds on Armv9 processors. This was made possible by using Arm’s software, which reduced hardware requirements.
Although the optimized Stable Audio Open model is not yet available for download, Stability AI plans to integrate it into consumer apps and devices in the future. This opens up new opportunities for professional creators and businesses who are increasingly using generative AI in their production processes.
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Stability AI will demonstrate the capabilities of Stable Audio Open on mobile devices. This partnership with Arm is an important step toward making high-quality media generation accessible directly on mobile devices, which could change approaches to visual content creation.
