Reddit has launched a new search tool based on artificial intelligence — Reddit Answers , which helps users find information on the platform more easily. This tool, similar to other AI-based search products, responds to queries by generating well-structured answers and displaying links to sources. Reddit uses its own AI models, as well as models from OpenAI and Google Cloud, for the new AI search.
Platform users can receive answers to their questions in a conversational format. The system creates summaries on topics from various posts and comments, providing links to the sources of the answers. “People know that Reddit has answers, advice, and perspectives on almost anything they’re searching for,” the company noted.
For now, Reddit Answers is available only to a limited number of users in the US and only in English. Reddit plans to expand the feature to support more languages and countries in the future.
