Perplexity announced the launch of “Perplexity Labs” — a new feature for Pro subscribers that allows the creation of reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and even simple web applications using generative AI. The model is integrated into the web version, as well as apps for iOS and Android, with support for Windows and Mac coming soon. Key features include automated information collection and analysis, code execution, creation of charts, images, and structured files within a single workflow.
All created materials — charts, tables, codes, or images — are stored in a special “Assets” tab, from where they can be viewed, downloaded, or exported in various formats. Additionally, the “App” tab allows launching mini-applications created in Labs. The feature is designed for both professional and personal use.
Unlike the standard Research mode, which provides a brief overview of sources, “Perplexity Labs” employs a broader set of tools and spends more time on a single query, allowing the user to obtain a finished product — from idea to implementation — without the need for additional services or programming skills. Users have already noted the ability to quickly create complex analytical materials, interactive games, and web applications that can be further edited or shared.
The launch of Labs marks another step in expanding the Perplexity ecosystem, which already includes features for quick search, deep research, and an API for integration with other services.
