OpenAI has announced the launch of its video generation model Sora for users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland. From now on, ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers in these regions can also use the model to create videos.
Sora users can create clips of various lengths — from five to twenty seconds — with the option to extend them further. Videos can be styled in different ways, such as “film noir” or “balloon world.” Video creation takes from one minute for low resolution to four minutes for high resolution. The “storyboard” option allows users to edit videos by changing prompt details.
OpenAI notes that the use of copyrighted materials for training Sora complies with copyright law. The model is built on a wide range of datasets, including publicly available data.
