OpenAI has announced the launch of Operator—an AI agent that can perform tasks on behalf of users. This tool is available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and others. At the same time, Operator is currently unavailable in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.
Operator, which was launched in the US in January, allows users to perform a variety of tasks, such as booking tickets, reserving tables at restaurants, submitting expense reports, or making purchases on e-commerce websites. At the moment, the tool is only available to subscribers of the ChatGPT Pro plan, which costs two hundred dollars per month, but the company plans to make it available to all customers.
Operator runs in a separate browser window that users can control at any time. This approach ensures maximum convenience and security when performing tasks. There is already significant competition in this field, as companies like Google, Anthropic, and Rabbit are also developing similar agents.
