OpenAI is actively working on implementing new features to improve chat organization and content management in ChatGPT. In particular, the company is testing a “Projects” feature that will allow users to store chats, files, and instructions in one place. This innovation will be available in the sidebar under pinned GPTs, where users will be able to create and name their own projects.

The “Projects” feature is based on existing solutions for custom GPTs under the code name “Snorlax.” It allows chats and files to be stored together, making it easier to use them for ongoing work or to keep things organized. Many users have long requested such a capability, as managing chats through history and search has been a challenging task.
In addition, OpenAI is experimenting with the ability to create canvases directly from the prompt area. A new button allows embedded content to be opened as a canvas, which can be expanded to full screen. This significantly speeds up the process of working with text or code, as users can immediately start editing without waiting for ChatGPT to process.

It is expected that OpenAI will present these innovations during the “12 Days of OpenAI” event. There are ten days left, and these improvements are likely candidates for one of the announcements. “Projects and canvases could significantly change the way users interact with ChatGPT,” experts note.
