According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, the update has already been “rolled out to all free users.” Although the company does not specify exact limits, the announcement mentions “limited access.” Altman previously wrote that the limit is three generations per day — this is the restriction the system applies.
The feature became available on March 25, but it was enabled for the free tier with a delay. After launch, the company recorded extremely high demand — at its peak, the service was receiving up to a million new users per hour.
