OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced a new opportunity for ChatGPT users. Paid ChatGPT Plus subscribers, who pay twenty dollars a month, as well as free users, will be able to get limited access to the o3 Deep Research agent, which was previously available only with the most expensive subscription at two hundred dollars per month.
i think we are going to initially offer 10 uses per month for chatgpt plus and 2 per month in the free tier, with the intent to scale these up over time.

it probably is worth $1000 a month to some users but i'm excited to see what everyone does with it! https://t.co/YBICvzodPF
Free users are allotted two uses per month, which may seem limiting. However, this approach is likely aimed at showcasing the tool’s capabilities and encouraging upgrades to paid plans. For ChatGPT Plus subscribers, who will receive ten uses per month, the offer is more practical.
Altman also noted that OpenAI plans to gradually increase usage limits, providing broader access to the agent as the technology and infrastructure improve. This opens up new opportunities for users, who will be able to use the tool more frequently. However, it is not yet specified when exactly this feature will become available to everyone.
It is worth noting that o3 Deep Research is OpenAI’s response to a similar tool from Google called Deep Research, developed on the basis of Google Gemini. This agent functions as an autonomous digital assistant that searches the internet and scientific sources, gathering detailed information on topics or tasks specified by users. The collected data is compiled into reports, which are delivered to users within minutes or hours along with appropriate notifications.
