Google has added the popular Nano Banana feature to the AI mode in the Gemini and Google Lens apps. Users can now create and edit images directly during the search using the new Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model. In AI mode, a “plus” icon has appeared in the lower left corner, which opens a menu for accessing the gallery, camera, and the “Create Images” feature, marked with a banana emoji.
After selecting image creation, users see the prompt “Describe your image.” You can generate a new image or add an existing one for editing. Generated images can be downloaded or shared, and they contain the Gemini spark watermark in the lower right corner.
The integration of Nano Banana has become even more noticeable in Google Lens. A new “Create” tab has been added, where users are encouraged to create and share images by pressing the button with the banana emoji. By default, the front camera for selfies opens, but you can switch the lens. After taking a photo, the image is added to AI mode, where you can enter a prompt for further processing.
The Nano Banana feature in Google Lens and AI mode is already available on Android in the USA for accounts connected to Search Lab with AI support. Additionally, Google has expanded access to AI mode to 35 more languages and over 40 new countries, bringing the total to 200.
