According to TestingCatalog, Mistral AI is preparing to launch a new model called “Pandragon,” which will feature advanced image generation and web search capabilities. These tools were already spotted in development earlier this month, but it has now become clear that they may be specifically tied to the “Pandragon” model. Both features are currently in beta testing, so their release may be limited to a specific group of users or marked as experimental.

An important feature is the possible use of the Brave search index and the AFP fact-checking platform to provide the web search function, while the Flux platform from BlackForestLabs will likely be used for image generation. In addition, integration with Slack was found in the code of the new model, which may indicate the introduction of so-called “connectors” for this platform.
Another interesting feature is the ability to upload documents, which is already available in the Pixtral model for images and may now be added to both Pixtral and Mistral Large 2 models. The document upload feature has a separate flag, which could mean it will be released independently.
At the moment, there is no exact launch date or availability for these tools, but Mistral AI is actively working on expanding the capabilities of its models, making them more integrated with other services and more convenient for users.
