Mistral, recognized as one of the AI leaders in Europe, has introduced an update for its assistant Le Chat. The updates include improvements to the web interface and the launch of a mobile app for iOS and Android. Mistral develops its own large language models and offers them for commercial use via API or cloud partners such as Azure AI Studio, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI. The company aims to become an alternative to OpenAI and Anthropic, with Le Chat positioned as a competitor to ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
The new mobile version of Le Chat provides convenience on the go. The interface allows users to interact with the AI model in a simple chat format, ask questions, and receive answers. Recently, Le Chat gained the ability to search the internet with source links and generate images. The company has also signed an agreement with Agence France-Presse to ensure the reliability of information sources. However, there is no voice mode in the mobile app.
The updates include the launch of a Pro version for $14.99 per month, which provides access to “the most productive model” and the option to opt out of data sharing with the company. Mistral claims that Le Chat runs on “the world’s fastest machines,” capable of processing up to a thousand words per second. The company also reports improved image generation quality thanks to collaboration with Black Forest Labs.
Additionally, Mistral has released mobile apps for Android and iOS, which are already available for download. The apps allow users to generate images and perform web searches. The interface is simple, but further expansion is expected in the future. Although there has been no official announcement from Mistral AI yet, social media hints at upcoming news, including a new model.
