Midjourney officially announced the V7 model as the new standard for all users. After several months of testing, the release of the “Omni-reference” feature, and updates to stylistic references, V7 is now used by default. Users who were still working with V6.1 will be automatically transitioned to the new version.
V7 is a smarter model with higher image quality, better operational understanding, and improved image coherence.
V7 generates images with higher quality, better understands requests, and creates more coherent scenes. Among the key innovations are the “–draft” mode, which generates images 10 times faster, and support for “Omni-reference” to maintain characters and objects in series of scenes. The style algorithms “sref” and “moodboard” have also been updated to work more accurately than in V6.1.
Improved personalization profiles have received approval from 85% of users. According to the developers, these changes were the foundation for the transition. Users who wish to revert to the previous version can do so in the settings on the website or through a command in Discord.
