Microsoft is preparing its AI infrastructure for the possible deployment of the Grok model from xAI. Recently, Microsoft has been negotiating with xAI about hosting Grok on the Azure cloud service, which will allow both clients and Microsoft’s own teams to access this model through the Azure AI Foundry platform.
If the deal is finalized, Grok will give developers the ability to integrate the model into their own products. In addition, Microsoft will be able to use Grok in its applications and services, expanding AI options for users. The Azure AI Foundry platform already supports models from various labs, including Anthropic, Google, and DeepSeek, and Microsoft continues to actively add new solutions.
Hosting Grok on Azure does not imply exclusivity — Microsoft plans to provide only resources for running the model, not for training it. This means developers will be able to use Grok directly through Microsoft’s cloud services, as well as combine it with other available models to create their own applications, bots, and digital agents.
