Microsoft has introduced its first proprietary AI-based image generator called MAI-Image-1. This model can now be used in Bing Image Creator and Copilot Audio Expressions. The company emphasizes that MAI-Image-1 excels at creating images of food, natural scenes, as well as lighting effects and detailing that look realistic.

MAI-Image-1 is noted for its speed and high-quality results. Users can quickly obtain ready-made images, modify them, and transfer them to their favorite editors for further processing. In Copilot Audio Expressions, this model also creates illustrations for audio stories in “story mode.”

Previously, Microsoft had already introduced MAI-Voice-1 for language processing and the text model MAI-1-preview. The company continues to update its Copilot assistant, adding new features, including the use of OpenAI’s GPT-5 and Claude from Anthropic.
