Microsoft has announced the general availability of the Copilot Vision feature for all Edge browser users. Now, anyone with a Microsoft account can use this feature for free — previously, it was only available to Copilot Pro subscribers. Copilot Vision allows AI to scan and analyze the current web page, after which the user can receive a summary of the content or ask questions about the page’s contents.
To activate Copilot Vision, you need to sign in to Edge with your Microsoft account and enable the feature via the Copilot sidebar. After that, you can ask the AI to summarize information, provide advice, or generate content based on what’s on the page. For example, Copilot Vision can help you choose the right product on a website, explain recipe steps, or suggest how to write a cover letter for a job opening.
According to the company, Copilot Vision works with most websites except those with unsafe or adult content. On such pages, the Copilot icon becomes inactive, and the feature refuses to analyze the content.
Microsoft emphasizes that user privacy is protected — queries, images, and page content are not stored, and all data is deleted after the session ends. Only Copilot’s responses are retained so the company can monitor the safety of interactions.
