Microsoft is working on introducing characters for Copilot. Two characters have been discovered in the chat code — a little fox named Mika and a water droplet named Hikari. Currently, these characters have no sound, but future updates may add the ability to speak. Users can interact with the characters by clicking on them to trigger certain movements.
The new characters appear on a background that occupies the upper half of the chat screen. Several background options are available, such as a forest or other scenes. The characters come to the foreground to greet the user. The user interface remains almost unchanged, with conversations displayed at the bottom of the screen. These changes add a visual layer without disrupting the core chat functionality.
Microsoft is also considering adding a shopping feature to Copilot. This will allow Copilot to help users with purchases and tracking deliveries. The feature may provide detailed product cards and initially be available to paid subscribers in the US.
These updates indicate that Microsoft is looking for creative ways to improve Copilot, focusing on user-friendly and visually appealing features. Personalization through character selection may increase user engagement, making interactions with AI more interesting.
