Within the Microsoft ecosystem, an experimental project called Copilot 3D has emerged, allowing users to transform regular images into 3D models. Users have access to an interface with two main sections — “Explore Ideas” and “My Creations,” where they can view demonstration galleries and implement basic interaction capabilities with objects.
The main function of Copilot 3D — creating 3D models from user images — is not yet active, and the “Create” button does not yield results. However, a future workflow is planned to allow users to quickly obtain 3D visualizations based on their own images. The project aims to make working with 3D accessible not only to professionals but also to a wide range of users.
Copilot 3D stands out among other tools in the Copilot ecosystem by focusing on visual creativity. The platform’s slogan is “3D for everyone: from imagination to creation.” Users will be able to save and view their own works in a special section, as well as explore the ideas of others.
Previous developments by Microsoft in this direction have already included interaction with virtual characters using voice, which may indicate further development towards combining 3D objects with avatar communication. Currently, Copilot 3D remains a prototype, but the platform already offers basic capabilities for viewing and manipulating 3D models, which can be useful for enthusiasts and creative users.
