Meta has introduced the Edits app for mobile video editing, which simplifies video creation on a smartphone. The app is now available to users and is aimed at content creators who want to quickly edit and publish quality videos on various platforms. Edits supports not only Facebook or Instagram, but also allows exporting videos without watermarks.
The main feature of Edits is the use of AI for applying video effects based on the SAM 3 model. Users can apply effects like “Scribble,” “Outline,” or “Glitter” to individual people or objects, tag clothing, or blur elements in the frame. Integration with Reels allows remixing or reacting to videos from Meta’s library, with authors receiving automatic credit.
Edits offers features for video planning: “title cards” and “storyboards” help structure the plot and professionally design titles. The app includes an extensive library of fonts and text styles, including options for Indian languages, providing more creative possibilities.
Users can record videos up to ten minutes, edit material on a precise timeline, receive real-time analytics, and save clips without unnecessary restrictions. Meta plans to add new tools for collaboration, creative resources, and advanced editing capabilities, focusing on community feedback.
