Meta has introduced new features for its Meta AI chatbot that allow it to remember details about users. This capability is already available on Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp for iOS and Android in the US and Canada. Users can ask Meta AI to remember information, such as their travel or language learning preferences. This will help the chatbot provide more relevant recommendations, taking into account the context of previous conversations. This feature is similar to what has already been implemented in ChatGPT and Google Gemini.

Meta AI now also uses data from Facebook and Instagram accounts to create personalized responses. For example, if a user’s profile indicates they live in a certain city and they have recently watched concert videos, the bot may recommend attending a local music event.

Currently, it is not possible to disable personalization. However, users can delete remembered data at any time, and Meta AI will not remember information from group chats.

The new Meta AI features are aimed at making interactions with the chatbot more convenient and useful for users. This allows AI to be used for generating creative ideas, planning trips, and other tasks, taking into account users’ individual preferences.
