Meta announced reaching a significant milestone — one billion monthly users of the “Meta AI” model in its applications. This was reported by the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, during the annual shareholders’ meeting. This figure is double that of September last year when “Meta AI” had five hundred million active users per month.
Zuckerberg emphasized that the company is focusing on personalization, voice conversations, and entertainment to make “Meta AI” a leading personal AI. He also outlined plans for the development of the assistant, stressing that the team will initially work on its improvement before building a business model around it.
In the future, the company sees opportunities for implementing paid recommendations or launching a subscription that will allow users to access more computing resources. Such a move could bring “Meta AI” into direct competition with popular chatbots like “ChatGPT” from OpenAI.
It is worth noting that the new record came just a month after the launch of the standalone “Meta AI” application.
