The company Luma AI has introduced a new AI model Ray3 , which creates videos with 4K HDR support and color depth up to 16 bits. Ray3 features a “reasoning” function that allows the model to work with text and images, execute complex instructions, and independently evaluate its results. Users can control the movement of objects or camera angles by drawing directly on the image, simplifying the video preparation process.
Ray3 offers a “draft mode” where you can quickly get rough video versions with different variations and then turn them into full-fledged clips with high detail. This helps creative teams save time on idea exploration and allows for experimentation without additional costs. The model is already available for free through the Dream Machine app, as well as for Adobe Firefly and Creative Cloud Pro subscribers until October 1st.
Luma AI emphasizes that Ray3 allows for the creation of videos with natural character behavior, realistic lighting effects, clear reflections, and stability of character appearance in the frame. The new tool supports export in EXR format, suitable for professional editing and color correction. Ray3 can also convert standard SDR videos into HDR versions.
The model is positioned as a partner for directors, game designers, and advertising professionals, taking on routine tasks and generating various creative solutions. At the same time, Ray3 does not create audio for videos, unlike some other tools.
