At CES 2025, LG and Samsung introduced their new smart TVs, which now have access to the Microsoft Copilot assistant. These TVs feature dedicated sections for artificial intelligence, allowing quick access to the Copilot web app. LG is adding an entire AI section to its TVs and renaming the remote control to “AI Remote” to make it easier for users to search for and organize complex information using contextual prompts.
Samsung, in turn, is promoting its own Vision AI brand for AI-powered features. These include AI upscaling, Auto HDR Remastering, and Adaptive Sound Pro. The new AI button on the remote lets users recognize food on the screen or use home security features that analyze video streams from smart cameras. Microsoft Copilot will be part of this section, enabling users to receive personalized content recommendations.
So far, neither company has demonstrated exactly how Copilot works on these TVs. LG only showcased its own chatbot integrated into the TVs, which can help users find more information on specific topics. Samsung also did not provide additional details or images of Copilot in action, but did mention a partnership with Microsoft that will allow users to explore a wide range of Copilot services.
Despite the announcements, details about how Copilot will function on the new TVs remain unknown. This may indicate that LG, Samsung, and Microsoft are not yet ready to showcase this feature in full.
