The company xAI is preparing major updates for the Grok app, which will expand its capabilities for creative users and fans of personalized AI assistants. Soon, Grok will introduce a fourth virtual companion named Valentin. This is a male character with the ability to gradually develop, similar to the existing Ani. The feature is aimed at users who enjoy interactive stories and includes options for more mature interactions as the level of engagement increases.
The main update is the “Imagine” feature, which developers discovered during the app analysis. It will appear on the top panel of Grok for iOS and will initially be available only to those on the waiting list. “Imagine” provides access to new generative AI models for creating images and videos. Users will be able to browse selected images, modify already created visuals, or input their own requests to receive new pictures.
The image generation mechanism is based on Grok 4 technologies and supports almost instant creation of an infinite number of variations. Users can continuously scroll through the feed to find new visuals. The system allows adding favorite images to favorites, converting them into videos, and applying various video presets, including those that support adult content.
A separate video generation feature is being introduced, which creates four variations per request and adds soundtracks to the resulting clips. This capability was previously only available in Google’s Veo 3 model. The new features are integrated directly into the Grok app, so users do not need to install additional services.
The launch date is still unknown, but xAI plans to present the update around the same time as the release of GPT-5. The company is strengthening its focus on the creative use of AI and aims to attract new users through the platform’s speed, convenience, and flexibility.
