The company xAI has announced the launch of a new memory feature for its chatbot Grok. From now on, Grok can remember details from previous conversations with users and provide more personalized responses, such as recommendations that take into account an individual’s preferences. To use this feature, you just need to actively interact with the bot — over time, it “learns” and adapts better to each user’s needs.

The memory feature is already available in beta on the Grok.com website, as well as in the Grok apps for iOS and Android. Users can manage their “memories” — view what the bot has remembered and delete individual items directly through the chat interface. If needed, memory can be completely disabled in the settings on the “Data Controls” page.
For now, the new feature is not available to residents of EU countries or the UK. The company also reported that it is working on implementing this feature in the Grok version for X.
Similar memory features already exist in some other popular chatbots, such as ChatGPT and Gemini. The introduction of personalized memory gives users more control over their interaction with Grok and allows them to receive advice and answers that better match their needs.
