Grammarly announced the launch of several new AI agents to address specific tasks in the field of writing. All these agents are available in “docs” — a new text work environment designed with AI in mind. Grammarly Free and Pro users can use these features at no additional cost.
Among the new agents is the “AI grader,” which analyzes uploaded course details and open information about the instructor. It provides recommendations on the text and can predict the grade a student will receive for the work in its current form. This allows students to improve their texts before submission.
The service also offers a “reader reactions” agent that predicts possible reader questions after reviewing the text, a “proofreader” agent for step-by-step writing tips, and a “paraphrase” agent that adjusts the style and tone of the text for different audiences. For working with sources, there is a “citation finder” agent that automatically creates correctly formatted references, and “expert review” provides personalized feedback on content.
For educators, Grammarly introduced a plagiarism checker agent that scans large databases, academic papers, and internet resources for text matches. An “AI detector” agent is also available, which determines the likelihood of a text being written by a human or AI and provides a corresponding score.
Plagiarism checking and AI-generated text detection agents are currently available only to Grammarly Pro users. The company announced that all new agents will be available to corporate and educational users later this year, along with yet-to-be-announced new features.
