Google is expanding access to its generative video model Veo for Google Cloud clients. Veo is now available in private preview for users of the Vertex AI platform, allowing companies to leverage this tool for video content creation. Among the first clients are Quora’s Poe platform and Mondelez International, the owner of Oreo, who plan to use Veo for marketing purposes.
Veo can generate 1080p videos up to six seconds long, with various visual and cinematic styles. It can create clips from images or text prompts, as well as edit already generated videos. “We created Poe to democratize access to the best generative AI models,” said Spencer Chan, Poe’s Head of Product.

Google emphasizes that Veo has been enhanced for enterprise use. It supports editing individual parts of a video and can combine frames into longer projects. However, Veo has its limitations — sometimes objects in the video disappear or appear without explanation, and the physics may be inaccurate.
Google is implementing prompt-level filters for Veo to prevent the creation of harmful content. In addition, videos generated by Veo contain invisible SynthID watermarks to help prevent misinformation.
