Google has begun providing access to video generation using AI Veo 3.1 in the Google Vids service for a wider audience. Users can create videos up to eight seconds long in 720p quality with sound addition. The new version features improvements in image quality, accuracy of text query matching, and soundtracks, including more convincing music.
Testing showed that Veo 3.1 better recognizes the nuances of the request and creates videos with more detailed visual effects. For example, scenes with a volcano or dinosaurs have more realistic details and more natural object proportions compared to the previous version. Some users noted better alignment between the result and the initial idea, as well as more interesting music in the clips.
It was found that Veo 3.1 is only available through Google Vids, and its traces also appeared in Vertex AI quota, but Google denied the information about the model’s presence on other third-party platforms. Some services mistakenly announced support for this version for their advertising campaigns, but the company confirmed that this is not true.
