Google has begun testing the Search Live feature for users in the USA. It allows voice conversation with a chatbot directly in the Google search engine. Users can now ask questions and receive answers by voice, as well as see links to relevant sites during the conversation.
The feature works in the Google app on Android and iOS for those who have joined the AI Mode experiment in Labs. To use Search Live, you need to tap the new “Live” icon under the search bar.
Search Live uses a special version of the Gemini model, which supports multi-level conversations and understands context. The chatbot’s responses are accompanied by a selection of useful links that can be viewed during the conversation. The feature works in the background, allowing the user to switch to other apps without interrupting the conversation.
Additionally, you can view a text transcript of the conversation and reply in the chat. All previous dialogues with Search Live are saved in the AI Mode history. Google also plans to add the ability to use the camera for search in the coming months.
