Google has announced the expansion of access to the “AI Mode” feature in its search engine. From now on, users in the US who are eighteen or older and registered in the experimental Labs program can take advantage of this opportunity without having to wait in line. In addition, the company has started testing an “AI Mode” tab directly in Google Search for a small portion of users, allowing them to interact with the AI assistant outside of Labs.

The “AI Mode” feature enables users to ask complex, multi-component questions and refine them during the search process. The updates add the ability to continue searching from where the user previously left off — a sidebar with the history of previous queries now appears on desktop. This will be useful for those working on long-term projects or tasks.

“AI Mode” now features interactive cards for venues and products. When searching for restaurants, salons, or stores, users can quickly view ratings, reviews, opening hours, and other up-to-date information. For products, users will see images, details about availability, real-time prices, promotions, and delivery options.

The functionality allows, for example, to find venues nearby with a specified theme, get recommendations for travel or household products, and instantly follow links to stores or map a route to the chosen location. Thus, users can receive more detailed and personalized answers without needing to switch between different services.
