Google Photos has begun a wide rollout of the updated image editor on Android. Users now see an updated bottom panel where tools are grouped into a new carousel list. A magnifying glass icon has appeared for quick feature search, along with a full list of available tools with brief descriptions.
In the “Auto” tab, you can now use “Enhance,” “Dynamic,” and “AI Enhance.” These features combine various tools and offer several editing options. The “Actions” tab includes capabilities such as “Crop,” “Magic Eraser,” “Move,” “Best take,” “Portrait blur,” “Pop,” “Sharpen,” and “Denoise.”
Other editor tabs include “Markup” with options “Pen,” “Highlighter,” and “Text,” “Filters” with sky styles, as well as “Lighting” and “Color” with settings for contrast, tone, saturation, hues, and other parameters. The adjustment bars have a new look with animations when opening and closing.
The editor allows selecting and editing specific areas of a photo using tapping, outlining, or a brush. In this case, a list of tools appears for working with the selected part of the image, such as “Magic Eraser” or “Move.” The update is already available for most Android users with app version 7.44, and for iOS, the feature will appear later.
