Users of Android can now edit their photos using AI in Google Photos. Google announced the launch of this feature for Android owners in the USA. Now, you can interact with AI via voice or text to describe how you want to change an image. This simplifies photo editing as you don’t need to search for the right tools in the app.
The feature is powered by Gemini and first appeared on Pixel 10 devices in August. To start, you need to click “Help me edit” in the editor and describe the desired changes. You can use ready-made Gemini prompts or ask AI to simply “make it better.”
The editor supports basic changes, such as adjusting lighting or removing unwanted objects from photos. More complex actions are also available, like removing items in the background or restoring old photos. Users can add creative elements to images using AI.
During editing, you can refine requests, and Gemini will help improve the result. The feature is available in English for users aged 18 and over in the USA.
Additionally, Google Photos now supports C2PA Content Credentials, which mark images created with AI. This feature was previously available only on Pixel, but now it is also available for Android users.
