Google is testing personalized podcasts with AI

Google has started testing a new feature called “Daily Listen,” which uses generative AI to create personalized podcasts. This feature is available to Android and iOS users in the US who have joined the Search Labs experiment. “Daily Listen” automatically generates a podcast of up to five minutes, providing an overview of news and topics that interest you.

The feature is integrated with Discover, so your subscriptions in Google Search and Discover help create a more personalized audio experience. “Daily Listen” offers a quick way to catch up on trending topics based on your personal interests. Users may see a new section on the Google app’s main page, where they can start the podcast by pressing the play button.

However, given how Google previously released “AI Search Overviews” after testing, there is a chance that “Daily Listen” will become a permanent feature.
