Google has added a new feature to its AI-based note-taking app — NotebookLM. Now, users can share their notebooks via a public link with classmates, colleagues, or students. Viewers with access to the link won’t be able to edit the content, but they will have access to interact with AI reviews of audio, briefings, and answers to frequently asked questions.
NotebookLM first appeared in two thousand twenty-three as an experimental Google product and quickly gained popularity. The app helps users better understand materials from various sources — from notes and documents to presentation slides and YouTube videos. The model can create summaries, generate podcast-style discussions, and interact with users regarding uploaded materials.
To grant access to a notebook, simply click the “Share” button in the upper right corner, change the access level to “Anyone with the link,” and copy the link. It can be sent via message, email, or published on social media.
Additionally, Google allows granting specific users editing rights to the notebook by entering their email address. Audio reviews from NotebookLM can also be shared through the Gemini app.
