Google has introduced a new version of its AI-powered research tool — NotebookLM Plus. This premium option expands features and customization for both individual users and enterprises. The update builds on the existing functionality of NotebookLM and aims to make it a more comprehensive tool for boosting productivity.

NotebookLM Plus significantly increases usage limits compared to the free version. Users can create up to five hundred notebooks, each containing up to three hundred sources. Daily limits for chats and audio generation have also been raised to five hundred and twenty, respectively. In addition, NotebookLM Plus offers several premium features, such as advanced chat customization, notebook analytics, and enhanced sharing options.

NotebookLM is developed by Google, which integrates this tool with Google Workspace and uses Gemini AI models. The NotebookLM interface has been redesigned into three panels — Sources, Chat, and Studio — for easy navigation between document management, AI interaction, and content generation.

Initially aimed at corporate users through Google Workspace and Google Cloud, the NotebookLM Plus version will become available to consumers via the Google One AI Premium plan in early 2025. This plan costs $19.99 per month and includes other benefits, such as 2 TB of storage.
