Google has officially expanded access to its AI-powered note-taking and research assistant, NotebookLM, for individual users via a Google One AI Premium subscription plan starting February 10, 2025. Previously, this feature was only available to businesses through Google Workspace and Google Cloud.
📢 NEW LAUNCH 📢
— NotebookLM (@NotebookLM) February 10, 2025
Today NotebookLM Plus is available to everyone through Google One AI Premium Plans AND students are eligible for a 50% discount. This means
✅5x the notebooks
✅6x the sources per notebook
✅7x the audio overviews
+ more fun features like customizing your chat!…
NotebookLM Plus offers significantly higher usage limits compared to the free version. Subscribers can create up to five hundred notebooks (instead of one hundred in the free version), include three hundred sources per notebook (instead of fifty), make five hundred chat queries per day (compared to fifty), and generate up to twenty audio overviews daily (instead of three). These features enhance the service’s functionality as a tool for transforming uploaded materials into summaries, brainstorming sessions, or podcast-style audio discussions tailored to users’ preferences.
The Google One AI Premium plan costs $19.99 per month and includes other benefits such as Gemini Advanced tools in Gmail, Docs, and other apps, as well as 2 TB of cloud storage.
NotebookLM Plus builds on the success of its predecessor, integrating features like audio overviews, which gained attention after their introduction in September 2024. This feature allows users to generate podcast-style summaries from the content they upload, already drawing comparisons to similar offerings from companies like ElevenLabs and Meta.
