Google is actively working on a new feature for its AI-powered note-taking tool, NotebookLM. We’re talking about interactive mind maps. This feature allows you to automatically create a structured visual representation of sources in your notebook and convert this representation into JSON format for further use in external tools.
NotebookLM is powered by Google Gemini technology and is designed for research activities. Users can upload various types of content, such as documents, PDF files, and YouTube links. The tool enables interaction with this content through summaries, Q&A sessions, and audio overviews. The latest updates include enhanced interactivity, particularly audio overview features, as well as a premium version, NotebookLM Plus, for businesses and teams.
Interactive mind maps can become a convenient way to explore connections between different sources. They allow you to visually present information and improve collaboration thanks to visual summaries of shared notebooks.
Currently, there is no confirmed release date for this feature, as it is in the experimental testing stage. However, if implemented, it could significantly expand NotebookLM’s capabilities in areas such as education, research, and project management.
