Google announced the implementation of its new AI model for image generation, Nano Banana, in Google Search and NotebookLM. Users can upload or take photos and then use simple text prompts to modify images according to their preferences. For example, they can transform the look of a room, change the interior style, or add new details by simply describing the desired outcome in a query.
In Google Search, Nano Banana allows quick photo editing by changing backgrounds, lighting, colors, or even clothing and the appearance of objects. The tool can also combine elements from different photos and create new image variations. This makes the editing process accessible even to those without experience in graphic editors.
In NotebookLM, Nano Banana added six new styles for creating illustrations and “Briefs” in video reviews. Among them are watercolor and anime styles, which can be used for visualizing information or preparing short presentations. This expands the possibilities for researchers and those working with visual content.
Google reported that Nano Banana will soon be available in Google Photos, but the exact launch date is not yet known. Since the integration of Nano Banana into the Gemini app, users have already created over five billion images using this model for quick and easy photo editing.
