Google continues to expand the capabilities of generative AI, working on new features for its Gemini app. The latest beta version of the app reveals details about video creation powered by the Veo 2 model. According to the information, users will be able to describe their idea, and Veo 2 will generate an eight-second video in one to two minutes.
Currently, Veo 2 is available through the Google Labs waitlist under the name VideoFX, presumably with Advanced-level access in the Gemini app. Video generation will have daily and monthly limits, as indicated by in-app notifications warning users when they reach their quota.
Additionally, the app will feature a video player, the ability to download created videos, and share them via links. These innovations are being developed under the codename “toucan,” and it appears that the Gemini release with Veo 2 support may happen soon.
Currently, all Gemini users can create images using Imagen 3, as well as explore audio reviews that were introduced recently. The further development of audio and music generation remains uncertain, but Google continues to advance its technologies in this field.
