Google announced the launch of a new feature called “scheduled actions” for users of the Gemini app with AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions, as well as for some business and educational Google Workspace plans. From now on, AI can be tasked with performing actions at a specified time — for example, receiving daily calendar summaries, event overviews after they conclude, or blog ideas every Monday. Users can set up both regular and one-time tasks by simply specifying what needs to be done and when.
Scheduled actions can be managed on the new “scheduled actions” page in the Gemini app settings. The system allows up to ten active tasks at a time and provides the ability to pause, delete, or modify them at any moment. Examples of usage include daily email reviews, reminders of important events, content idea selection, or automatic weekly news summaries.
The new feature also supports personalized requests, such as informing about weather conditions and clothing suggestions based on your wardrobe. For location-based tasks, the model uses the location where the action was created to form future responses.
