Google is developing a new feature for its generative AI model called Gemini Personalization. This experimental model is designed to provide personalized responses by accessing the user’s Google search history. The innovation aims to improve the chatbot’s ability to deliver contextually relevant answers.
Users can enable the Gemini Personalization feature by allowing the model to use their search history. To do this, they need to activate the “Web & App Activity” setting. Once enabled, the chatbot will analyze recent search activities and offer individual summaries and conclusions. During testing, the model provided a detailed overview of search activity over the past two months.
Personalization aligns with Google’s overall strategy of using user data to enhance AI capabilities while maintaining user control over privacy settings.
Although an official launch timeline has not yet been announced, it is reported that Google plans to update Gemini soon, which may include this experimental model for Gemini Advanced users. The technology could change how users interact with AI-powered tools, making them more responsive to personal contexts.
