Google has announced the release of two new features for its AI assistant Gemini: Canvas and Audio Overview. Canvas provides users with an interactive space for creating and refining documents and code in real time. Users can create initial drafts, edit specific sections, and change the tone or formatting using dedicated tools.
Canvas also offers programming capabilities, allowing users to generate and preview HTML, React code, and other web app prototypes. This enables developers to quickly create initial versions of their projects, view them in real time, and make changes as needed. For example, you can ask Gemini to create HTML code for an email subscription form and preview how it will look on the site.
The other feature, Audio Overview, transforms text materials such as documents or slides into podcast-style audio discussions. This allows users to get audio overviews of uploaded files, which can be listened to while performing other tasks. Currently, this feature is available only in English, but Google plans to expand language support.
Both features are already available to Gemini users worldwide. Canvas and Audio Overview are designed to make collaboration with Gemini even more effective, helping bring ideas to life and enriching the user experience with new possibilities.
