Google is expanding the capabilities of its generative AI, allowing free Gemini users to create images of people using Imagen 3. Previously, this feature was available only to Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of early access, but now it is gradually being rolled out to a wider audience. This opens up new opportunities for users who want to leverage image generation in their projects.

Earlier this month, Google added this capability to the Gemini sidebar in services such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. New features like “Help me create” in Docs, “Help me visualize” in Slides, and “Help me create” in Vids have also appeared. This allows users to more easily integrate image generation into their workflows, making them more efficient and creative.
With the recent release of the stable 2.0 Flash version, Gemini has also received an “enhanced” version of Imagen 3, which, according to developers, ranks first in image generation. It provides richer details and textures, as well as more accurately follows user instructions, making it a powerful tool for creative tasks.
The introduction of these new features in the free version of Gemini demonstrates Google’s commitment to making generative AI more accessible to a wide audience.
