At the Google I/O 2025 conference, the company introduced new generative AI features for Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Vids. Gmail will feature personalized smart replies that consider the user’s style and tone, as well as data from previous emails and Google Drive. This will allow for quicker email responses without spending time searching for the necessary information. Additionally, a new inbox cleaning feature will help delete or archive unnecessary emails through simple queries to Gemini.
Another innovation in Gmail is simplified scheduling of meetings with external contacts. The system will automatically suggest available times for booking clients or partners, reducing the time spent on schedule coordination. All these features will become available to users over the next few months.
In Google Docs, users can now manually specify which presentations, documents, or reports Gemini should use for writing text. This allows for recommendations based only on reliable sources already stored in your Google Drive. The feature is available to all users starting today.
Google Vids gains the ability to transform slide presentations into videos with automatically generated scripts, voiceovers, and animations. Additionally, AI avatars can be used to narrate prepared text for video creation without personal involvement. Among the new tools are “balance sound” for leveling audio volume in videos and “transcript trim,” which automatically removes filler words from recordings. Some of these features are already available in Google Labs, while others will be introduced soon.
Moreover, Workspace will integrate a new version of the generative image model Imagen 4, which allows for creating more detailed and accurate illustrations in Slides, Vids, Docs, and other Google applications.
