Google continues to develop the Visual Layout and Creative Canvas features for the Gemini platform. Visual Layout has already been showcased as a way to create structured presentation interfaces. The new Creative Canvas feature offers a more flexible approach, allowing the creation of interactive Canvas blocks directly in the chat window, rather than as side panels.
Users can request Gemini to create interactive artifacts, such as news panels with brief article summaries, dynamic layouts, or even games that launch directly in the chat. Creative Canvas supports a wide range of outcomes, going beyond static layouts and enabling the creation of interactive applications available right in the chat window.
The technology is based on a new Google model currently being tested for Agent Mode, Visual Layout, and Creative Canvas modes. Each mode has its purpose and provides users with more control over how AI-generated content looks and is used.
The exact launch date for these features is still unknown. Google is considering integrating Creative Canvas and Visual Layout into future versions of Gemini, focusing on enabling users to create and explore interactive digital objects directly on the platform.
