Google has introduced a new feature in the Gemini app that allows users to create audio overviews based on deep research. Now, users can turn detailed reports generated by Gemini into podcasts with two virtual hosts. This feature is available to both free users and Advanced subscribers.

The same AI Audio Overview technology that powers @NotebookLM is now available in the Gemini app. Now, you can turn your Deep Research reports into lively podcast-style conversations with two AI hosts.

The audio overview feature was first introduced last September in the NotebookLM app, which also belongs to Google. Since then, the company has gradually improved it, allowing users to interact with the hosts. The new feature in the Gemini app enables users to turn slides and documents into podcast-like conversations, making information more accessible.
This feature can be especially useful for deep research, where Google’s “agent” AI, known as Gemini, analyzes web resources and generates detailed reports. After the report is generated, users can select the “Create audio overview” option to listen to the information in a convenient format.
