Google Flow received updates in September that expand its capabilities for creating and editing content. In the “ingredients” mode for image generation, an editing feature has been introduced, utilizing Google’s Nano Banana model. Now users can immediately edit created images without leaving Flow. This feature simplifies the process for those working on marketing, design, or personal projects, allowing for faster results.

Another innovation is the “prompt expander.” It helps transform short instructions into full-fledged queries with additional details and style. Ready-made templates are available, and there is the possibility to create custom expansion options. For example, an animation author can enter a short scene description, and the tool will generate an expanded text with the necessary details for generating complex visual sequences.
Google announced the discontinuation of Veo 2, affecting features that currently depend on this model, including the “ingredients” mode. The company has not specified how the transition to the new version of Veo 3 will occur, but users expect changes in their usual workflows.
Google continues to develop Flow towards modularity and expanding user control. Adding tools for image editing and working with prompts in one service expands possibilities for various categories of creators working with generative content.
